Sad News for Alzheimer’s Association – Eastern North Carolina Chapter

It is with great sadness that I’m writing to share that our Eastern North Carolina Chapter Executive Director, Lisa Roberts, passed away April 2, 2024 after battling a long illness. Lisa began her career with the Alzheimer’s Association in 2010, and was instrumental in building relationships across the eastern half of North Carolina for the Association and its mission.

During her long tenure with the Association, Lisa expanded the work into communities across the chapter footprint and served on numerous work groups and task forces supporting the dementia community.

Lisa’s greatest strength was the strong bonds she built with those she met and with which she worked. She never forgot a name and never greeted anyone with anything less than a smile from ear to ear. Staff affectionately dubbed her the “Mayor” because she knew and greeted everyone at our events.

For all these things and many more memories and reasons, she will be greatly missed.  Please keep Lisa and her family, friends and colleagues in your thoughts.

Best regards,

Katherine L. Lambert
Region Leader for North Carolina, South Carolina & Georgia
Alzheimer’s Association

P.S. Lisa leaves behind a phenomenal team who is already at work to ensure the mission she helped build continues. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at encinfo@alz.org, and we’ll be happy to provide guidance during this time.

  1. It was an honor and a pleasure to know Lisa through my time as a volunteer for the Raleigh chapter for a few years before the pandemic. May she rest in peace and may her family be comforted by their many wonderful memories of her. She will be sorely missed by so many of us.
