ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION – EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA CHAPTER NAMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Alzheimer’s Association – Eastern North Carolina Chapter has recently promoted veteran leader Christine John-Fuller to the role of executive director where she will oversee the Alzheimer’s Association’s impact within the 51 eastern counties of the state.

The executive director position was previously held by Lisa Roberts, a long-time executive with the organization who sadly passed away earlier this year after an extended illness.

John-Fuller has been with the Alzheimer’s Association for seven years overseeing communications and the organization’s The Longest Day campaign for both the Western Carolina and Eastern North Carolina Chapters. Prior to this role, she served as the president and CEO of the Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter, among other leadership roles throughout her career.

“Christine has added so much value to our organization through her breadth of experience, her passion for the cause and collaborative leadership that has helped strengthen our impact across the state. We look forward to seeing her continue to move the needle forward on our mission to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.”

Katherine Lambert, Alzheimer’s Association Regional Leader for NC, SC & GA

Letter from our New Executive Director

I consider it an honor of the highest regard to be entrusted to help lead this chapter in fulfilling the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission. Like most of you, I was introduced to the heart-wrenching realities of Alzheimer’s far too early in life as a teenage caregiver for my Grandma John who lived with us. It was that experience that drove my decision to align my work and passion with the Alzheimer’s Association 7 years ago. And now I’m driven by an even greater force — that personal journey combined with the people I’ve met and the stories I’ve heard since my time with our organization began. Our stories are different, but our resolve is universal.

I look forward to traveling once again across eastern N.C. as I did often in the executive role I held for nearly a decade for another volunteer health organization. I know the need and potential that our chapter holds, and I’m ready to work in tandem with you to continue the great work we are already doing and increase our breadth and depth.

For those I’ve already had the pleasure of working with, I’m elated to be doing so on a grander scale. And for those of you I haven’t met yet. I wait with bated breath to meet you, learn your “why,” and dream about all we can do together.

Most importantly, I make it my promise to pay respect to the footsteps that came before me, and help that legacy carry on.

Sincerely,
Christine John-Fuller
Executive Director
Alzheimer’s Association – Eastern North Carolina Chapter
