Join us this GivingTuesday to support the fight against Alzheimer’s

As we approach the holiday season, we are reminded of the importance of community, compassion, and giving. This GivingTuesday, we invite you to join us in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

Nearly 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease – a leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 11 million family members and friends provide care to people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. In North Carolina alone, there are more than 210,000 people living with the disease and 373,000 caregivers.

Why your support matters

Alzheimer’s and other dementias are more than just memory loss; it is a progressive disease that impairs daily life and independent function. It impacts every aspect of a person’s life and the lives of their loved ones. With your support, the Alzheimer’s Association can continue to provide critical resources, support services, education programs and fund groundbreaking research aimed at finding better treatments and ultimately, a cure.

Here are just a few ways that you can support the Alzheimer’s Association locally here in North Carolina this GivingTuesday:

Give financial support

Thanks to an extraordinary triple match, your financial contribution can go even further to help us fund essential programs, support services like our 24/7 Helpline and research that is leading to better treatment options and ultimately, a cure. Every dollar – no matter the size – brings us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.

Your gift will make 3x the impact with our holiday triple match challenge

Give to Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Walk Day may have come and gone, but the fight to #ENDALZ continues. If you participated in a Walk this fall, use a photo of you at Walk and include it in a post asking your friends to make a donation toward your fundraising efforts on this global day of giving. Make sure you include a link to your fundraising page or Walk Facebook fundraiser.

Give time

Offer your time and skills to support our events and initiatives. Your involvement can make a significant impact.

Give your voice

Raise awareness about the impact of Alzheimer’s and the support available through the Alzheimer’s Association by sharing our mission with your network and encourage others to get involved. You can also help us advocate at the local, state and national level to advance improvements in care and caregiving for those living with Alzheimer’s and other dementia.

Stories of hope

Meet Samantha, a North Carolinian and caregiver for her husband who found solace and support through our programs. “The Alzheimer’s Association has been a lifeline for me. Their resources and community have given us hope and strength during the toughest times.”
