The Alzheimer’s Association – Western Carolina Chapter has been ranked No. 8 in the nation out of the Alzheimer’s Association’s 2024 Top Fundraising Chapters for The Longest Day.

The Western Carolina Chapter earned another spot among this ranking for the third year in row! Chapter participants in the 2024 The Longest Day season raised an incredible $330,204 to outshine the darkness of Alzheimer’s by funding Alzheimer’s care, support and research programs. Rankings are earned by overall campaign revenue from all Association chapters nationwide.

Lambert, CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association – Western Carolina Chapter. “Thank you to our participants, volunteers, staff and the entire North Carolina community always go above and beyond to make this campaign a success and most important, raise critical funds for Alzheimer’s research and local support services.”
Rankings are earned by overall campaign revenue, and include 75 chapters nationwide. In 2024, more than 11,000 people participated in The Longest Day fundraising activities, raising over $12 million.
“I’m so impressed by the creativity, passion and dedication of The Longest Day events throughout our state,” said Kelly Klotz, chair of The Longest Day committee in North Carolina. “The vital funds raised enable the Association to deliver 24/7 care and support, advocate fearlessly for people facing the disease and fuel groundbreaking research across the globe. The advances we are seeing in treatments are representative of the momentum that will ultimately, lead to a cure.
