The Alzheimer’s Association has announced that Walk to End Alzheimer’s® – Charlotte ranked No. 19 among its 2025 Top 30 Walks in the nation!
Among over 600 communities nationwide, Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Charlotte has reached a new milestone. In 2025, over 2,100 participants raised an incredible $949,544 for Alzheimer’s research, care and support, earning the Queen City the national ranking of No. 19 in overall event revenue.
“I am beyond proud of our Charlotte community for earning this remarkable achievement. This milestone belongs to our team captains, participants, sponsors, volunteers, and every single person who donated, shared, and showed up,” said Christine John-Fuller, Executive Director of the Alzheimer’s Association chapters in North Carolina. “Both in Charlotte and across the state, our supporters are making a difference for the 210,000 North Carolinians living with Alzheimer’s and their 381,000 caregivers.”

The Charlotte Walk is also home to some of the nation’s top-ranking fundraisers. The Sharon at SouthPark team raised an impressive $143,255 in 2025, making it the No. 12 fundraising team in the U.S. Two individual fundraisers earned national distinction as well: Stu Goldstein of Team Cadwalader raised $35,778, coming in at No. 54, and Josh Thompson (pictured right) of the Senior Living Communities team raised $30,000, coming in at No. 78.
The annual rankings were announced at the Alzheimer’s Association Leaders Summit in late February, where dedicated volunteer leaders from across the country gathered to celebrate our collective impact, collaborate on what’s next, and re-energize for the work ahead. Charlotte has been among the Top 30 Walks every year since 2016.
In 2025, Walk to End Alzheimer’s collectively raised over $112.4 million for the Alzheimer’s Association — a record amount for the world’s largest event to fight the disease. These vital funds enable the Association to deliver free 24/7 support, advocate fearlessly for people facing the disease and fuel groundbreaking research across the globe.
Our community is powerful when we come together, and we’re delivering real hope. In addition to new treatments that can slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease, science is giving us tools to protect brain health in new ways. We invite you to learn more about this progress at a local education program or by requesting a speaker for your workplace or community group.
