The Alzheimer’s Association announced that the Western Carolina Chapter has been ranked No. 9 in the nation out of the Alzheimer’s Association’s 2022 Top Fundraising Chapters for The Longest Day.
This is the Chapter’s first time earning a spot among this ranking. Participants in the 2022 The Longest Day season raised an incredible $301,362 to outshine the darkness of Alzheimer’s by funding Alzheimer’s care, support and research programs. Rankings are earned by overall campaign revenue for all Association chapters nationwide.
“Congratulations to all involved in The Longest Day for their hard work and support in helping our chapter rank nationally” said Katherine L. Lambert, CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association – Western Carolina Chapter. “We appreciate our The Longest Day participants, volunteers, staff and the entire North Carolina community for going above and beyond to make this campaign a huge success and to raise critical funds for Alzheimer’s research and local support services.”
On behalf of all those we serve, we can’t thank you enough, North Carolina, for your support of The Longest Day in 2022. Together, supporters from both chapters in North Carolina raised over $399,000 for Alzheimer’s research care and support. The most ever collectively raised across the state.
The day with the most light is the day we fight! Please join us for The Longest Day this year — it’s such a fun and meaningful campaign! Each participant selects an activity they love, or one to honor a loved one impacted and works with our local staff to turn it into a fundraiser to ENDALZ. Fundraisers can take place year round. Then, all participants unite for a day of celebration on June 21 —the summer solstice — the longest day of the year. Together, we use our creativity and passion to raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®. Whether participating individually or as a group, we have plenty of fun ideas, tips, and resources to help you succeed. Join the fun today!
