The Alzheimer’s Association will host its annual Memory Gala Saturday, May 20. The event is a memorable night in the fight against a disease that erases such moments. Proceeds provide opportunities critical to fighting Alzheimer’s disease by raising funds for research and local support services.
Presented by Amélie’s French Bakery & Café, guests will enjoy a welcome reception, seated dinner, powerful mission moments, and auction, as well as dancing and musical entertainment provided by Kingdaddy. Remaining seating is limited. Visit charlottememorygala.org to reserve tables and tickets.
ALL WELCOME TO PRE-REGISTER FOR GALA AUCTION
While our event is taking place in Charlotte, the Memory Gala silent auction will be open to gala guests and the general public alike, no matter where they are located.
One such package that will be available when the auction opens is the opportunity to fly in a fully restored 1943 Boeing Stearman biplane. Long before his diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, Frank Sinatra crooned, “Come fly with me, let’s fly, let’s fly away.” The winner of this package will receive a ticket to come fly with Legacy Biplane LLC. This discovery flying lesson will be your introduction to flying in a biplane like a fledgling WWII cadet! They will demonstrate the four fundamentals of flight while you enjoy the open cockpit experience. This lesson does not contain aerobatic maneuvers such as loops or rolls, but we can make it playful with wing-overs and steep turns (nothing upside down) if you so desire. On the other hand, if you prefer straight and level , we are happy to do that too! Get your hands on the controls, if you wish, as all flight time is loggable instruction!
Additional auction packages include luxury items such as floral subscriptions, chef and baking experiences and domestic and international vacation packages.

Bidding starts on May 10 and ends on May 20 at the close of the live auction (approximately 8:30 p.m.).
