The Alzheimer’s Association – Western Carolina Chapter is partnering with the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts for an Alzheimer’s Awareness Night at the June 4 performance of The Notebook The Musical, 7:30 p.m. in Greensboro.
Based on the best-selling novel that inspired the iconic film, The Notebook The Musical tells the story of Allie and Noah, both from different worlds, who share a lifetime of love despite the forces that threaten to pull them apart. The musical is based on Nicholas Sparks’ best-selling novel, which also inspired the iconic 2004 film.
Following its Broadway run, the musical is now embarking on its US National Tour, with show dates offered in Greensboro June 2-7, 2026.
Here in North Carolina, an estimated 210,500 individuals age 65 or older are living with Alzheimer’s disease. The Notebook‘s emotional exploration of family, memory, and enduring love will certainly strike a chord for families who have experienced Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia. That’s why the national tour and the Tanger Center are partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association to offer a special Alzheimer’s Awareness Night at the June 4 performance of the musical.

“We are grateful for this partnership in raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and ensuring support reaches those living with dementia,” said Christine John-Fuller, executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association chapters in North Carolina. “Awareness Nights like this create a powerful opportunity to highlight the impact of Alzheimer’s, connect individuals and families with critical resources, and invite the broader community to join us in the fight against this disease.”
